Ask yourself: If I leave behind a legacy on this earth, what will it be?
The command to “go and make disciples” has for many decades been understood to be synonymous with “go and make converts.” In other words, go out to evangelize nonbelievers and help them come to faith in Jesus Christ. This is correct as far as it goes. But it doesn’t go far enough!
In other words, the Great Commission is an absolute requirement for Christians, not just optional equipment for the highly spiritual. Jesus intends for all of His followers to understand our response to His commission in terms of His absolute Lordship. It is utter foolishness for Christians to say, “Jesus is Lord,” if we are not diligently seeking to obey His commission. To paraphrase the words of Pastor and well-known author Francis Chan: Jesus called us to go and make disciples, not to sit and make excuses.
Bold Faith Journey Experience:
Michael and Cindy Maddy spent four months of 2018 in the country of Uganda training Pastors at a Master’s Level in an International Baptist Seminary. They were able to start 38 Bible Schools with 380 students during their stay. Most Pastors oversee at least two churches and have no formal ministry training. This is problematic.
The solution? Our goal is to develop a network of churches and individual donors who are committed to financially sponsoring BSOW-TEN Training centres. The idea is that each ‘Kingdom Investor’ will pay for one BSOW box to be sent to pre-approved TEN Deans who will manage and facilitate a centre in a location where leadership training is needed. The cost of a TEN Training Centre using BSOW is valued at $500 USD.
Bold Faith Journey Ministry wants to partner ten ‘Kingdom Investors’ with ten Pastors or Missionaries on the mission field in Africa. These ten disciples will go out and train ten more disciples, who will go out and train ten more, who will go out and train ten more… UNTIL WE MAKE ONE MILLION DISCIPLES. This is the Jesus Plan.
